Prayer List
Anthony Fair, sponsored by Church of the Foothills, is at Seminary in MinnesotaMy dear friends, brothers and sisters in Christ,
What do you call a precious gift you don't deserve and never could repay? I call it, grace. That is the only way I could justify to myself the overwhelming love, support and acts of kindness that I have received from all of you. Here is an update on my status.
The chemo treatment we started last month did not go well as it triggered Hemolytic Anemia and put me in the hospital for 5 days to recover. When we resumed therapy, the doctors hanged the drugs, which will only require one month of treatment as opposed to 6-8 months with the previous treatment. I'm skeptical, but hopeful and believe with prayer I will have a better chance to beat this thing.
I've had my second treatment and things appear to be going well. I still experience some fatigue and soreness, but overall, I find myself feeling very good and functional. As such, the need for daily assistance has been greatly reduced. If you look at the CareCalendar (www.carecarecalendar.org ) you'll see there just a few events remaining where I could use some help this month. My sister and mom will be moving here next month to help, but I'm anticipating that I'll be fully healed and back in the swing of things by then.
I have a prayer request for this treatment to work as the doctors hope it will. If it does not, then I'll have to do a bone marrow transplant. This means leaving Luther/Minnesota and going to a facility in, Seattle, San Antonio or Nashville. I'll be there living in virtual quarantine with a caregiver for 6-9 months. I have two more treatments before I know where I stand. Thanks again for everything.
By His grace,
Tony
